We are specializing in the breeding of fine quality bird dogs for the foot hunter that will also make wonderful additions to your family.

Dedicated to the breeding of dogs, that we have evaluated both in hunting and training scenarios. The following criteria must be met:

• Good Nose
  
• Desire; they must prove their hunting ability on “Wild” birds, not just in a training scenario. They also must have a minimum of 1 season of hunting
• Biddable and have the temperament to be a welcome family member
• Meets Braque du Bourbonnais Standards
• PennHip tested
• Pass a NAVHDA Natural Ability Test (if birth date allows)

We are taking our time evaluating each litter that we put on the ground, with respects to: drive, size, and temperament in and out of the field.

Bourbonnais are a very soft tempered dog, we watch to make sure that the dogs we breed exhibit the temperament needed to develop the traits we are looking for in or companions. We highly suggest exposure to new things, such as people and place’s during your pup’s development this will help make them more out going and more self-confident.

Each litter that Aspen Ridge Kennels produces will have a “Breeding Restriction” registration that is offered by NAVHDA.

Our litters will be registered with: NAVHDA, F.C.I, the largest International Registry. We will also guide you on how to get your dog registered to run NSTRA trials or other dog trail’s if you are interested.

We require our families to sign a “Puppy Contract”; it will help ensure a wonderful life for every puppy that we place in a home.

We feed our dogs “Purina Pro Plan” products; up until our puppies are 2 years old we feed “Purina Pro Plan Puppy Food” for large puppies (chicken & rice). We highly recommend that when you get your new puppy home that you continue feeding “Purina Pro Plan Puppy Food”.
