Jack has a unique ability not only to adjust to cover, but to distinguish the different species of wild birds. His sensibility demonstrates in handling each bird it shows his intelligence.
He is a proficient grouse hunter, patient never crowding, will hold on point until you get there. Standing tall and proud; if the grouse flushes before you arrive he will be looking up in the air. He has a different point when on Woodcock he is down lower to the ground.
He has a strong and steady gate when searching cover, starts at the same speed he finishes with.
He is one of the two dogs we count on when searching new areas.
