"Puppy Program"

We start our pups at a very early age with a socialization program. Puppies are handled daily from the beginning using the "Bio Sensor/Super Dog" performance improvement program (see link below) and are taken out to run and explore from the time they get their feet under them. By the time they are 5 - 6 weeks old (weather permitting) your puppy will be introduced to water, getting used to a lead and being worked with a pointing wing. They will also be introduced to a tethered pigeon to increase their desire and introduced to a blank gun.  This is just a mild introduction to help evaluate your each puppy. This is not to be confused with the introductions that you will be doing at home at a later date.

As they get their feet under them, get a little bigger and stronger they will be going for runs in taller grass and getting use to heavier cover. They will also be socialized to children, adults and other canines. We've found that starting these experiences early leads to a dog that isn't afraid to hit cover later in life. They will also not have an issue with crossing creeks or retrieving birds out of water.  The more the puppies are exposed to at a young age, the bolder it will be as it grows.

All of our litters will be kept in our home along with our adult dogs. Your puppy will have it's first shots and worming, it will also have it's tail docked to Braque du Bourbonnais Standards and their dewclaws will also be removed.

For and additional fee ($45) we will "Microchip" your puppy before it leaves us, there are different options that you can do when registering the microchip. We can handle that for you too, please ask about the additional charges to register. We feel very strongly that this is done, if your family member gets lost, most vets and shelters have the ability to scan dogs that are brought in. Micro-chipping is the best possible insurance you can find to get your family member back.

Aspen Ridge Kennels also offers a one time NAVHDA Natural Ability entry reimbursement fee of up to $100.00 (US funds). For all puppies who pass their Natural Ability Test with a Prize I, II or III.
